What is an ISBN?
An ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is the 10 or 13-character number on the back cover of your textbook. It also appears in text form on the copyright page inside of the front cover. A book can have both 10 and 13-character ISBNs at the same time. If your book does not have an ISBN on the back of the book check the first few pages at the front of the book for an ISBN. If your book does not contain an ISBN in either of these locations then you can look up your book by searching first author's last name or by title. Books without an ISBN are most likely considered as "Used" or a "Complimentary Copy".

What is a Job Control #?
A Job Control # is a set of numbers and/or characters used by some publishers to identify their books. It is usually found on the back of the textbook.
How do I search for multiple ISBN's?
You can search for up to 50 ISBN's at one time by entering the ISBN's with a comma between each ISBN.
What does it mean when my quote says with access or access code?
It means that your textbook must be received with a new and/or sealed access code.
What is an access code?
It is a series of characters that allows you access to your courses online content and/or additional study material. These are only valid for a one time use.
What is book condition?
The amount of time a textbook has been in your possession does not affect book condition. Whether you received it yesterday or last semester, the condition is determined by the quality of the book upon receipt at our facility.
New Condition Textbooks: A “New Condition” textbook is received in clean, pristine condition. Writing, bent corners, highlighting, smudges, "complimentary copy" stamps, "Free Copy" stamps, or any other alternative publisher markings on or inside the textbook will preclude the item from being checked in as “new.” Copyright date, age of the book, or date you received the book has no bearing as to condition. Please include all accompanying supplementary material, (access codes, cds, dvds, etc.)
Used Condition Textbooks: Textbooks that contain embossed or imprinted stamps displayed on the front or back cover, such as "Complimentary Copy", "Review Copy", "Free Copy", "Instructor's Editions", or "Annotated Instructor's Edition", are considered used condition. Textbooks that are written in, highlighted, shelf worn, or have any other conditions causing the book to not be clean and pristine. Please include all accompanying disks or tapes.
Complimentary Textbooks: These are considered USED condition. If the book has a removable "Comp Copy" sticker on the cover, please do not remove it as damage may occur.
Free Copy Sampled Textbooks: These are considered USED condition. Books which have "FREE COPY" imprinted inside the textbook. If you have a "Free Copy" text, it must be looked up by the "Free Copy" ISBN located on the back cover or on the copyright page of the text.
Annotated Instructor's Editions: These are considered USED condition. Only those annotated listings shown with prices will be purchased. Please do not send textbooks that are annotated unless your search was positive. If you have an "Annotated" text, it must be looked up by the "Annotated" ISBN located on the back cover or on the copyright page of the text.
I entered an ISBN, but found no results.
Our comprehensive database contains over 440,000 titles. Perhaps the ISBN you entered is too recent and hasn't had an opportunity to make it into our database. However, we may still be able to buy your book. Please contact customer service at 1.800.868.8902.

May I send more than one copy of a title?
Yes, you may. However, if you have more than 5 copies of a particular title, please call prior to shipping to ensure that proper credit for those titles can be granted. The quantity restriction is per customer, and is not per transaction. Call 1.800.868.8902 and ask for a FacultyBooks.com quantity approval. If prior approval is not granted, and we receive more than 5 copies of a title, the customer is responsible for all return shipping charges for declined books.
When do I get paid?
Your shipment will be processed within 24 hours of arriving at our facility. A check will be issued to the name and address you provided in your profile and on your packing slip. Please be sure this information is up-to-date. The payment will be mailed to you via United States Postal Service unless otherwise noted. You may choose to have your payment sent via Second-Day or Next-Day UPS.
If you signed up for Direct Deposit (EZPay), payment will be directly deposited into your bank account.
I have had my book(s) for a while. Can they still be considered as "new" condition?
Yes. The amount of time you have had a book in your possession does not affect book condition.

When I try to add books to my selling basket, it doesn't take them. Why?
Check your browser's "cookie" settings under the preferences (or options) section. It must be set to "Accept All Cookies".
Do I have to give you my email address?
Yes. The site requires a user to create an account in order to sell books. You will receive an administrative email regarding your shipment. You will also receive periodic promotional emails unless you specify otherwise. Your privacy is important to us. We will not release your email address to 3rd parties.
Will you sell / give my name, address, or email address to anyone?
No. We will only use your information to issue payment and contact you if required. We will never give or sell any information to a 3rd party unless legally required to do so.
Why were the books I sent graded as used condition?
FacultyBooks.com will grade the books as to their condition when they arrive at our facility. We have every incentive to grade the books in new condition, and every measure is taken to determine the best grade allowable.
Why is the listing only showing the used price?
Listings only displaying the used price are generally for a "Complimentary Copy", "Free Copy", "Instructors Edition", "Not for Sale", or "Annotated Instructors Edition". These are considered USED condition.
How long is the price quote good for?
Quoted prices are good for 14 days from the day the order is finalized. This policy protects you by ensuring you receive the price expected from your quote. However, if a shipment arrives after the 14 days, we will automatically process your shipment under the most current prices available. Master database price updates occur once a month with periodic interval updates.
"Send Me Boxes for Free", what is that all about?
It's called the FacultyBooks.com Customer Care Package. The package is provided for you, the customer, at no charge. It consists of boxes, tape and packing material. Please use the package to ship your books to us. If you request a care package, one will be sent to you the following business day via regular ground delivery. If you use this package, FacultyBooks.com does not assume any liability for any lost or damaged items shipped in the boxes. We grade all the books received at our facility based on the conditions they arrived in regardless of container.
My receiving report denotes a title was checked in as "text only", and the price I received was reduced. Why?
The second most common reason book prices are reduced is due to missing ancillary materials, such as CDs; the first reason being the books did not arrive at our facility in new, pristine condition. We process the shipment in the condition it arrives. We make the assumption that you have matched the book and its contents against the website listing. Therefore, if a book arrives without a CD, we assume it is intentional. However, if you have accidentally omitted these ancillary materials and would like to receive full credit for the book, simply notify us first, making us aware of the situation, and then send the missing materials in for credit.
How do I save my basket?
When you log in to FacultyBooks.com, your selling basket is automatically saved. This means that if you log out and need to access your basket later, you may do so by loading the basket (view instructions here). You may have multiple baskets saved.
How do I view information about previous orders?

The "My Orders" page shows you a list of all orders you have created, ordered by date and designated as "CREATED" orders. How do I track my packages?
You may track prepaid shipping labels created through FacultyBooks.com by navigating to the "My Orders" page for a created order (view instructions here). This page contains a list of all tracking numbers created for this order. To track a package, click on the tracking number for the package. This will bring up the UPS or USPS site, depending on the type of tracking number, with information about your shipment.
Note: USPS (United States Postal Service) only tracks package delivery confirmation. This means that tracking information for your package will only be updated upon arrival at our facility. In order for there to be any record of the package prior to its arrival, you must personally request that your shipment be recorded at the mail facility when you drop it off.
